When you speak to Skeezer, he blinks several times and begins what sounds like a practiced recitation of his life history. Skeezer Lumpkin the VI is from a gnome settlement on Krynn, beneath Mount Nevermind. However, for the past 75 years he has been living in Athakla in Amn, where he has dedicated his years to finding the perfect combination of technology and magic—research he claims could result in the ultimate tinker creation. Frequent failures for that entire period appear to have not deterred him in the slightest. A few of his creations have resulted in limited success, including “The Automatic (Systematic) Articulated Mop and Spring-Loaded Broom-Driven Pie Tin Flier and Egg Dropper” (or ASAMSLBPTFED for short), a boyhood obsession that numbered among his first inventions. It sent eggs flying at very high speeds, but had no other discernible purpose.

Despite his fascination with technology, Skeezer has recently shied away from the normal way of the tinkers in search of a greater understanding of magic, a field in which he has had greater success. He claims that his greatest desire in all of Faerûn is to see a beautiful skyship, a dream that has brought him to Baldur’s Gate.
